Learn to Read Tarot confidently

—A Monthly Tarot Workshop in Basel—

You’ve got a tarot deck…but it’s just sitting pretty on the shelf, slightly intimidating you.

Or maybe you take it off the shelf every once in a while and pull a card…but you’re not really sure if you’re doing it right or what the card means (unless you read the book).

Or maybe many years ago in a galaxy far away you did tarot…but haven’t touched the cards in years (or decades).

If that sounds familiar, Tarot Expeditions were made for you.

Once a month I open my private studio in Basel to 5 tarot-curious people. Together we practice reading tarot in a relaxed and supportive space.

No pressure to “get it right”.

No need to read it “right”.

Just curiosity, conversation. and the cards on the table.

Because You’re not only learning to read tarot…you’re Learning to Hear THE WHISPERS OF YOUR HEART, Your Intuition, USING TAROT—

 WHAT WE DO

During a Tarot Expedition we explore tarot in a practical, down-to-earth way.

This is not about learning cookie-cutter meanings from the book. This is also not about never opening “the book”.

We use both intuition and intellect. We reference both inner knowing and others experience.

A Tarot Expedition is designed so that each participant has space to experience and find their own way with tarot, not to simply follow mine.

One of the beautiful things that happens in every Tarot Expedition is that we all learn from each other. We learn from the freshness of the beginners’ mind, as well as from the textured experience of the more practiced among us.

COMMUNITY

I gotta be honest, gathering in community is another one of my main motivators for hosting these Expeditions.

This is an in-person workshop located in Basel.

Gathering together is a gentle and powerful act of courage. Connecting—both with each other and ourselves breaks the foundations of separation that many of the systems we live in is built on and relies on.

But, honestly, another big reason to meet up: it’s fun. It’s simply fun. This is one of my deep velvet yes’es.

WHO WE ARE

Each Tarot Expedition is limited to 5 participants; however, this is not a set group. You can choose to join only those Expeditions you are interested in. We tend to be internationally-minded, inclusively-oriented, tarot-curious people from various cultures and languages living in Basel.

Absolute beginners and experienced tarot users are welcome. Many of us speak some German but our common language is English. You are welcome to bring your own tarot deck but you do not need a tarot deck. You may borrow one of my 30+ tarot decks.

The only requirements are curiosity and gentle courage.

WHERE WE MEET

We meet in my private studio at Schanzenstrasse 13, near the Johanniterbrücke.

Nearby public transportation:

  • Tram 11, 15, 16

  • Bus 30, 33, 36, 38, 603, 604.

Accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible. Located on the 2nd floor accessible only via stirs.

I’M CHRISTINE, YOUR TAROT EXPEDITION GUIDE

More than anything I seek freedom from who I was told to be so I can be who I am, right where I live.

I have a degree in Social Work with an emphasis in Psychology, am certified by the International Coaching Federation as an Intuition Coach. I’ve been leading workshops for over 12 years.

My first card deck was the Archetypes deck by Caroline Myss. I now have a collection of 50+ oracle and tarot card decks but it was the psychology of the tarot, the archetypes, that first drew me in.

I began learning tarot in 2014 during a particularly difficult period in my life when I had moved back to Switzerland from Qatar and was navigating a new country in a foreign language while solo parenting my pre-teen and teen daughters and maintaining a long-distance relationship with my husband and establishing my own business. I gotta tell you, the cards landed on my kitchen table like a long lost wise old friend that helped me to slow down and breathe.

At first tarot seemed too complicated so I let a friend do the tarot readings while on my own I stuck to using oracle cards. But my friend gave me a Rider Waite Smith tarot deck and I quickly realized I had been fooled by everybody else’s idea of what tarot is (including my friend’s).

Which is why these Tarot Expeditions are designed to help you dive in and quickly find your own way with tarot.

Trust your readings. Trust yourself.

confidently read tarot for yourself on your own at home.
