A local reading series I’ve been part of developing and organizing. Save the date to come and listen and bring a friend. The reading will be open to the public and is free.

Are you a writer looking to share your work?
Shut Up and Write® and Schreibcafé, two of Basel’s weekly writer’s meetups, are joining forces to host a writer-friendly reading event.
Our goal
To create an open and friendly space for sharing and to celebrate local writers. Hobby writers, diarists, journalists, list makers and poets are invited to apply for a spot on the program.
This event is about the joy of writing and sharing creative work. It is not a competition.
What we are looking for
Rough drafts and unpublished texts of all kinds of genres in English or German. Reading slots will be distributed on a «first come first serve»-basis: 15 reading slots are available. When submitting your text, please let us know if you will read it yourself, or if you will be nominating someone else to read for you (we can also provide a reader for you).
Both Shut Up and Write® and Schreibcafé follow community guidelines that respect diversity and expect participants to demonstrate care for participants. Texts that contain hateful language or promote a discriminatory worldview will not be taken into consideration.
Interested? Find all information regarding how to submit here (PDF).
We look forward to your submission!
